excuse me, are those black lines painted?

yea, it is weird. i've had really different ideas before including the zebra stripes, but people always just patted me and said, "it's ok...". it's interesting you've wondered about that too. i wonder if anyone will ever be able to figure out WHY zebras have perfect and fascinating stripes.

i saw a beautiful zebra last wednesday
while on a safari ride with my family
the cheap ones where they cage the animals in.
I wondered why it got such a gorgeous design, and we didnt. and yet we, as humans, are called the most beautiful creature.
to me it made no sense.
the poor zebra looked so sad.
i feel less weird now for thinking such odd thoughts. this is good i think.

I went to a circus a few years ago and when they brought the zebras out I noticed how beautiful they were... I also noticed that they were missing something, they were tamed and had lost part of their beauty. Their empty eyes said it all. I'm not an animal rights activist but it was terrible, wrong, and sad

Well your totaly not weird o.o more ppl think about such things (including me >.>) yeah it's really fancinating how animals get such fur i think they are lucky that they have such a beautiful thing,,

that is truly an interesting view, yes, i would agree, they are amazing creatures, through creation or "evolution" or such, they are beautiful. black and white (and grey when together) are my favorite colors,(though many say that they aren't colors, but if you think about it, white light is all of the colors of the spectrum mixed together, so its very much a color, white i think the most beautiful) so ive always seen Zebras as amazing. I adore to paint, draw, read, write, and especially photography, so i guess you may say that i have an eye for beauty, but how could anyone not see them as wonderful. the colors go extraordinary together because of the contrast of them, one bright and pure, the other dark and you can see "whats not there" it may be hard to explain, but you may say its the fact of beauty, they are naturally....beautiful. but i must say my favorite animal of all though is the snow leopard, wonderful creature indeed. ^-^

I've always liked how the stripes go through into their manes, but to be honest I've never really much thought about the stripes of a zebra....I like their black eyes and nose, though....with all the white stripes surrounding.
i've had thoughts similar, but never exactly like yours. probably because it's your thought and it's unique to your mind... but who knows.
I live in south africa and see zebras often when we go to some game park! it's a pity they are wild animals cause they are truly beautiful! wondering what brought that conversation up all the way north in canada in winter!

yeah i remember thinking about that a while ago and just realising that zebras are actually really weird and unique and beautiful. they actually are really magestic aye.
it's cryptic coloring, it keeps the predators away and serves as a name tag within the herd.
